SATURDAY 3RD MAY 2008
SOUTHERN CROSS UNIVERSITY RACE DAY
One of the most eagerly anticipated racedays of the year is on Saturday 3rd May. With the support of the management of the Southern Cross University, more than 1000 students and staff will descend onto Lismore Racecourse for an afternoon of fun, fashion and frivolity.
On the racetrack the day will be highlighted by the $5,000 Southern Cross University Cup. Off the track the attractions will include Fashions On The Field, Novelty Games, a live band and much more.
The upstairs section of the Members Stand will be secured for Members & Ticket Holders, so you will be able to view the races and the other entertainment from the best seats in the house.

2008 XXXX GOLD LISMORE CUP
The first Lismore Cup was run in 1908 and won by a horse called “Truthful” so in 2008 we are celebrating 100 years since the running of the first Lismore Cup. The club is planning a number of highlights to celebrate this “Centenary Lismore Cup” which will be revealed in the coming months. Needless to say we are planning for the biggest Lismore Cup Carnival ever staged. The Lismore Workers Club Rousillon Handicap Raceday will be on Sunday 21st September with Cup Day on Thursday 25th September.
RECIPROCAL RIGHTS WITH GOLD COAST TURF CLUB
We are pleased to announce that as from 1st July 2008, members of the Lismore Turf Club will be able to use their badges to gain reciprocal rights at the Gold Coast races.
Members will still have to pay the $6 General Admission, however if you present your Lismore Turf Club Membership Cards at the Raceday Office you will be given Complimentary Members Passes on all Non-Feature racedays.
At feature racedays such as Magic Millions, Prime Ministers Cup and Melbourne Cup Day, you will be able to purchase Members Tickets which are not available to the general public.
WELCOME TO NEW STAFF MEMBERS
We would like to welcome both Wendy Ryder and Wal Filicietti into key supervisory role at the Lismore Turf Club.
Wal, who has an experienced background in the Hotel Industry, has replaced Michael Morrissey as Bar Supervisor, who left the LTC before Christmas to pursue other opportunities in the events industry. Michael has since joined the club as a member and we wish him all the best in future ventures.
Wendy has taken the newly created position of Functions & Hospitality Supervisor. Wendy has a background in both functions and marketing and will be taking over the organization of all functions and organized raceday hospitality. This has become a significant part of the club’s business and part of Wendy’s role will be to create further growth in this area.

Recently the club undertook to improve it’s online appearance and performance by upgrading the website. We believe it is one of the best in country racing, however if you have any suggestions for improvement we would be happy for the feedback.
