The Lismore Promotion Program has provided funds to the Lismore Turf Club to help publicize this years Lismore Cup, with part of that publicity being a Window Display Competition.
An outstanding prize package which includes EIGHT all inclusive tickets to the Winning Circle Marquee valued at $1,000 will be awarded to the business judged to be the most creative plus consolation prizes of complimentary Lismore Cup tickets will be awarded based on effort.
A public choice prize will also be won with one lucky shopper who submits a vote winning a double pass to the same marquee.
As part of the City Centre promotion, the club will be displaying a recently acquired piece of historic memorabilia – the 1922 Lismore Cup trophy won by a horse called Real Gem and trained by Tom Reid of Grafton.
The trophy was presented to the club by Gary Kerr of Bowral who is the grandson of Mr Reid and is being displayed in various businesses in the CBD to help create further awareness of this years’ Lismore Cup.
“This is a priceless piece of memorabilia that will take pride of place at our racecourse, however we want to share it with the people of Lismore first” said Michael Timbrell, Secretary/Manager of the Lismore Turf Club.
Photo / Film / Interview Opportunity - The unveiling will occur on Tuesday morning at 11.00am at Hortons (Woodlark Street) with Stephen Nelson & Michael Timbrell in attendance.
